What is a good way to kill stinging nettles without chemicals?

    Unfortunately you will have to dig them out. Ensure that you get ALL of the roots out or they will regenerate.

    Wear gloves.then kill them by presing them.pour salt water on it.its better to use chemicals.

    Have you tried flattening them and sheet mulching over the top?As they decompose they are adding vital nutrients back into the ground and are very beneficial as a fertiliser.Then you have a lovely fertile area to grow something in later.

    I agree with all the other answers I’ve seen to your question but one thing you can do to the nettles when you’ve pulled them is make nettle wine. My dad and I used to make it and it tastes quite ok.

    I just pulled out a patch of them in my back flower bed 30′ x 4′. You have to get the root system or they will come back. I laid black plastic on top and mulched overtop. If you get mulch make sure that it states that it is 100% weed free. My nettles came from mulch used the previous year. I hope this helps and wear thick garden gloves because the regular ones don’t stop the nettles. I’m still digging them out of my hands two weeks later. GOOD LUCK!!!!
