If you know where the nest is, gently put the baby robin back into the nest. Mom will take care of it from there.

i think that you should go in there and pick it up and put it back up in its nest so that the mom can take care of it… its better than letting it die!!!! i hope it can live…. [fingers crossed]

Don’t pick it up bare handed, your scent will be left on the bird. This will freak the mother out and she wont come near it anymore. If you must, use a pair of gardening gloves or a small towel. It wont be easy to catch the chick, and its gonna flip out once you do. I once took in a crow with a damaged wing and after it was healed, I let it go. It had already made friends with one of the pigs we had, so it stayed for another year or so and ate out of my hand when I would call it. You might just end up with a new (although illegal) pet.
